Reply to a day in the life by a Prison Worker

His guilt he has never denied,

I am sure there's many a time he's cried.

He never thought he would do such a thing

But when your drunk, who knows what life will bring!

His remorse and sorrow are clear,

many a time he's confided in me.

The regret at the crime and boozing he's done,

is not understood by some.

In prison he sees the error of his ways,

and he looks forward to far brighter days.

With no more drink and kindness for others,

He'll look for a church where he's amongst brothers.

A good man at heart and a worker for sure,

the crime he committed was a miracle cure.

It woke him up from the alcohol daze,

given a chance he'll mend his ways.

No more the forgotten hours,

unpressed clothes and irregular showers.

A second chance to live again,

and from the booze he will refrain.

He can be the man he wants to be,

When he has done his time and is once again free!
