can be arranged. Significant Others Service
- specialist help and support for the friends and families of problem drinkers. Gambling Support Service - in partnership with Gamcare apas can offer confidential advice, information and support to individuals worried about their own or someone else's gambling behaviour (see our Gambling section for more information) Domestic Violence
Service - along with the Nottinghamshire Domestic Violence Forum,
the Police and other organisations, apas
works to address the role of alcohol and drug misuse in situations where
domestic violence occurs. Priory Programme
- in partnership with The Priory Clinic, Nottingham, an intensive
intervention is
available on either an inpatient or day care basis for individuals dependent on
alcohol and/or drugs. Access to Funding - Please see our Community support page for more information on how you can get funding and support for individuals, carers and community support groups. Report
Service - apas provides
written reports for Individuals, Courts (see also Service in Focus), Tribunals,
Social Services and Employers. Tenancy Support - a
specialised service aiming to support drinkers and drug users in their tenancies
under the Supporting People
scheme Employment Support - support to employers and employees where alcohol is a factor in the work environment & supporting people back into employment. GP
Practice Support - apas
offers assessment, advice, information and counselling services in health
centres and surgeries. Referral on -
apas refers to selected residential primary treatment units and extended care facilities locally and further a field.
Assistance with necessary procedures is
available as required. Liver Function Test - can be arranged through the NHS or privately. Detoxification - can be arranged through the NHS or privately. Unpaid Work -
opportunities
for personal development through supervised unpaid activity here at apas. Bookshop - a range of
books are available dealing with alcohol, drugs, treatment, rehabilitation,
counselling and community care. Professional Education and Training - Training courses available for professionals working with problem drinkers including : Alcohol and Drugs in perspective; Substance misuse; Recognition and Response; Motivational Interviewing and more. apas at Work - Short courses for industry particularly Occupational Health and Personnel staff. Advice and assistance with design and implementation of workplace policies and services. Prevention and safety campaigns. Training Centre - Our fully equipped training facility can be made available for your organisation for private training functions.
