If you have answered yes to any of the above, then consider joining apas. Membership is open to anyone who is concerned about alcohol related harm.

apas is: 

Not tied to any one belief or philosophy of the cause of alcohol problems

Willing and able to support harm reduction and abstinence targets according to each person’s needs

An independent organisation that is accountable to its membership

An organisation that seeks change in individuals, in families and in communities - apas does not enable things to stay as they are

Not anti-drink but pro responsible drinking

Fast-track advice and information for your family and / or your staff, including our regular newsletter, apastimes

You will have direct input into the activities of apas, in determining priorities for our work, and working with us to achieve agreed goals. This will include approaching apas for assistance with any advocacy issues of importance to you or your organisation

You can vote in all apas elections and elect the members of the Board (which sets the policy of the organisation)

You can participate in the members’ meetings

You will be notified of every Annual General Meeting and any Extraordinary General Meetings

You can request a copy of the Audited Accounts

You can (except in certain circumstances) stand for election to the Board

The government is trying to help charities through the Gift Aid Scheme.
