apas is an experienced provider of specialised written reports relating to alcohol and gambling issues for Individuals, Courts, Tribunals, Social Services and Employers.
During the last three years we have produced over three hundred reports involving over fifty solicitors, primarily for people awaiting trial over issues with alcohol. Our reports have also covered individuals who have experienced problems with alcohol or gambling in the workplace and, increasingly, clients facing drink driving charges as a result of problematic drinking.
“For 33% of people in court or on probation,
alcohol will have been a factor in their offence.”
Every single report apas produces is meticulously compiled and rigorously checked. For most reports we will conduct an initial assessment with the client followed by a full diagnostic interview. We will perform psychometric testing pertinent to the individual's situation. These include SASSI, AUDITC, DSM IV and SOGS to gain a full understanding of the client's current situation and their attitudes to alcohol or gambling that may have contributed to their problems.
apas has built up strong links with the probation services, HMP Nottingham, HMP Whatton and HMP Lowdham Grange, with full time advice workers placed in each. Through these collaborations, we are able to reach more of those people for whom alcohol is a problem and may be a contributory factor in their offence(s). apas, as well asproducing the report, can act as an expert witness for the client if required. We provide full priority back up support for all clients using the service. This is often invaluable for clients experiencing difficulty at work and wish to maintain the support the received when the report was prepared.
