About our service

The Home Straight Floating Support Service provides flexible housing related support to people with alcohol problems living in the City of Nottingham. We work with individuals to prevent homelessness, promote independence and ensure that they can maintain their own accommodation. We work throughout the Nottingham area.

Home Straight is a Consortium consisting of 2 voluntary sector providers, APAS (Alcohol Problems Advisory Service) and Framework Housing Association. The support we provide is flexible and is linked to the person rather than their accommodation.  We can work with other organisations within the community, with the aim of preventing the need for a more intensive service provision.  We take a proactive approach to preventing homelessness by helping people out of housing crisis and then working with them to develop their support networks, coping strategies and daily living skills.

We work with individuals whose primary support need is problematic alcohol use with housing related support needs. We will assist people in accessing support around their alcohol use, helping them maintain contact with alcohol support providers, as well as offering advice and encouragement to deal with their substance misuse issues.
