Financial Risk Management

The financial risks to the organisation are reviewed at the Annual General Meeting and at Board Meetings held through out the period.

As in previous years, we are fortunate to receive financial support from more than one statutory investor, in addition to the unrestricted income resulting from the initiative and skills of our staff. The subsidiary company apas trading Ltd gifts all of its financial surpluses to the parent charity by deed of covenant.

Further income is received from donations by individuals who have benefited from our services, from various grant giving bodies and from sales of books and other publications. The Gift Aid scheme is promoted so that additional funds can be gathered from donations from UK Tax payers.

Reserves Policy

The reserves policy is to aim to cover a minimum of three months’ costs in order to meet unexpected demands, a delay in receiving funding and to give breathing space should there be any unfavourable change to government policy. Our budgetary control system allows us to monitor our financial well being on a monthly basis.

Fundraising Report

Once again this year we have been successful with many applications for one off grant and donations.

The number of donations from service users has continued to increase and the Gift Aid Scheme continues to produce extra income from donors who are UK taxpayers.

Our subsidiary company, apas Trading, has once again generated many thousands of pounds for the parent charity, these funds are unrestricted and can be used on services and initiatives to support our mission wherever the organisation sees fit.

We have also opened a second-hand bookshop, which compliments the range of new, specialist books that we sell from Park Row.
